Terms of Service

Welcome to CareMyWish ("the App"). Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before use. Downloading, installing, or using the App constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
1. Service Description
CareMyWish is a local iOS organizer for life's important matters: belongings, assets, digital accounts, journals, emergency contacts, and trustee invitations. All data is encrypted and stored on your device.
The App is not:
- A legal will drafting tool — it does not replace a notarized legal will;
- A legally binding medical directive — content is for family/clinical conversations only;
- An asset custody or fiduciary service — only key information is recorded;
- A cloud storage or sync service.
2. User Responsibilities
- You must safeguard your master password — we cannot recover it. Forgetting it without Face ID/Touch ID enabled means data becomes inaccessible.
- Use "Profile → Data Export" regularly to back up.
- Ensure entries are lawful, truthful, and do not infringe on others' rights.
- Confirm whether you need to export before uninstalling — uninstall permanently deletes all local data.
3. Intellectual Property
All code, design, copy, icons, and trademarks of the App belong to us or rightful licensors and are protected by applicable law. Reverse-engineering, redistribution, or commercial use without authorization is prohibited.
Content you enter (notes, letters, lists) belongs to you. We claim no rights. Because content never leaves your device, we cannot read or use it either.
4. Third-Party Account Information
When recording third-party services (banks, social media) in "Digital Accounts," you must:
- Comply with each third party's own terms;
- Take responsibility for legal consequences of authorizing trustee access;
- Record only necessary hints, not raw passwords (use a hint or a separate password manager instead).
5. Disclaimer
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation;
- Perfect compatibility with all iOS versions and hardware;
- Recoverability of data after device loss/damage/theft — without cloud backup, lost data is unrecoverable;
- Disputes arising from third parties accessing your content.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss, lost profits, family disputes, or legal disputes.
Because the App is currently free, our liability disclaimer applies to the fullest extent allowed by applicable law for free software.
7. Future Changes
The App may introduce paid subscriptions in the future (e.g., "Heirloom" tier). When that happens:
- Core local organizing features will remain free forever;
- Paid features will be clearly disclosed and require explicit user purchase;
- Existing data will not be locked behind paywalls.
8. Termination
You may terminate use anytime by uninstalling. We also reserve the right to terminate use upon Terms violation, though since this is a local app without accounts, this practically means you must uninstall.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, submitted to the competent court at the operator's location.
10. Term Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and notified in new app versions. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
