Is CareMyWish free?
Yes. V1.1.0 is fully free — no in-app purchases, no ads. Future "Heirloom" subscription tiers may add advanced features, but core local organizing will remain free forever.
Is my data uploaded to the cloud?
No. All data is encrypted and stored on your iPhone. We operate no user-data servers, and the App Store privacy details declare "Data Not Collected."
What if I forget my master password?
Because the password derives the local encryption key, we cannot recover it for you. Please:
① Enable Face ID/Touch ID as a backup unlock method;
② Export data regularly (Profile → Data Export);
③ Store the master password in a safe place (password manager or a paper safe).
How do I migrate to a new iPhone?
iOS Quick Start migration carries CareMyWish data along (the app uses standard iOS sandbox storage, which migrates with iCloud backup or direct device transfer). For extra safety, export to JSON on the old device first, then re-import on the new one.
Does my trustee need to install the app?
Yes. Each trustee installs CareMyWish on their own iPhone and shows their friend code or QR from "Profile → Invite Friends." You scan it to establish trust, then assign permissions.
Why does QR scanning fail?
Check: ① Camera permission for CareMyWish in iOS Settings; ② The QR code is correctly displayed on the trustee's "Invite Friends" page; ③ Lighting is sufficient. If still failing, manually type the trustee's 16-character friend code (4-4-4-4 format).
Voice recognition is inaccurate. What can I do?
Voice uses iOS SFSpeechRecognizer. Confirm: ① Simplified Chinese is among the system or keyboard languages; ② Speech Recognition permission is granted; ③ You're in a quiet environment. For technical terminology, fine-tune by typing.
Can I print or export to PDF?
Yes. In "Profile → Data Export," choose PDF. Files can be shared via AirDrop, email, or printed. Please safeguard the output to protect privacy.
Does CareMyWish support iPad or Mac?
V1.1.0 is iPhone-only (iOS 17.0+). iPad runs the iPhone App in compatibility mode but the layout isn't tablet-optimized. Mac is not on the roadmap.
Where can I report a bug or send feedback?

• Steps to reproduce;
• Screenshots if relevant (please remove real private info).

Start with what matters most

You don't have to fill everything at once. Pick the one thing you most want family to know — say, where the insurance policy is — and create the first record.

Spend an hour each month

Block out an hour monthly. Let "today's suggestion" guide you. Build the picture gradually.

Invite key family members

Pick 1–2 most-trusted family members as trustees. Make sure they install the app, scan to add as friends, then set scoped permissions.

Back up regularly

Quarterly: export to PDF or JSON, store in a secure physical or encrypted location as a final fallback.
